Course Description

A course dedicated to Roman mosaic, with an in-depth study of the compositional rules and the typical style of ancient mosaic art. During the lessons, details and techniques for cutting and laying tesserae will be analyzed, with particular attention to the knowledge of marbles and their characteristics. Special emphasis will be placed on traditional canons and the study of the origins of Roman art, exploring its technical and aesthetic evolution.
