Course Description

The Advanced Mosaic Portraiture Course is an intensive program dedicated to the study of the proportions and expressiveness of the human face through mosaic techniques. Students will analyze the styles that have characterized mosaic portraiture over time—from Roman to Byzantine mosaics, all the way to contemporary interpretations—experimenting with different materials and artistic approaches.

The course will explore the proportional rules of the face, the management of color nuances , and the orientation of mosaic tiles for a plastic and expressive effect. Through practical exercises, participants will create two mosaic portraits using different techniques and styles, thus developing advanced theoretical and practical skills.
