Course Description

The course addresses the study and practice of mosaic from a contemporary perspective , breaking away from classical canons to explore new expressive possibilities.

Particular attention will be paid to the use of heterogeneous materials (glass, ceramics, stone, metals, and recycled materials), analyzing their aesthetic and technical potential.

Participants will be guided in the interpretation of mosaic as an artistic and design language , applicable to both visual art and design.
The goal is to understand how to reinterpret this ancient technique in modern contexts, developing creative and innovative solutions that combine tradition and experimentation.

  • Morning: Presentation and theoretical lesson on modern mosaic

  • Afternoon: exercises and choice of subject

2nd and 3rd day

  • Creation of the mosaic work (max 40 x 50 cm)

The mosaic school in Tessere is open all year round and follows national holidays.

Each path is individual. The start date is freely chosen by the student, without a predetermined calendar. In case of special needs, it is possible to distribute the course hours over more days than the standard program (for example, 3 hours a day instead of 7).
