The course promoted by the In Tessere school is a course dedicated to the art of ceramic mosaic, which combines creativity and urban furniture. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of mosaic, both through the creation of a collective ceramic sculpture, and with a guided tour of the Tarot Garden in Capalbio, province of Grosseto, created by the artist Niki de Saint Phalle.

Detailed course program

Location : The theoretical and practical part will take place in the city of Narni at our school, while the guided visit will be to the Tarot Garden of Capalbio (GR).

Objectives : During the course, students will be guided by master mosaicists in the process of creating a sculptural work in mosaic, addressing all the themes of the third dimension.

Day 1: Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Ceramic Mosaic

• Ceramic mosaic theory and its fundamental principles.

• Familiarization with the tools, materials and techniques of cutting, arranging and laying the tiles.

• Guided practical exercises to experience the creative process of ceramic mosaic.

Day 2: Guided Tour of the Tarot Garden

• Exploring the extraordinary work of Niki de Saint Phalle in the Tarot Garden.

• Visit the colorful and monumental sculptures inspired by the Tarot to deepen your understanding of mosaic sculpture.

Day 3-4-5: Creation of the Sculptural Work

• Creation of a mosaic artifact under the guidance of instructors.

• Combining students' visions and skills to create a unique and meaningful work.

Closing Ceremony: Delivery of Certificates

• Celebration of the experience with the delivery of certificates to participants.

• A document that will remind everyone of an unforgettable experience in the world of mosaic.

***During the workshop a collective work will be created which will remain on display inside the school.
