Course description

This group mosaic and sculpture course offers a unique artistic and educational experience combining observation, design and hands-on creation. The programme includes a visit to and analysis of the Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle, followed by studio work in which participants create a three-dimensional ceramic mosaic project.

Inspired by the artist’s work, the course explores mosaic as a sculptural and plastic language that brings together form, colour and material. Classes are held in small groups of no more than 10 participants. Places are limited.

Course outline

Day 1

Morning: visit to and analysis of Niki de Saint Phalle’s Tarot Garden.
Afternoon: theory lesson on the integration of mosaic, architecture and sculpture; introduction to materials and definition of the personal project.

Day 2

Start of practical work: modelling the sculptural base and preparing the surfaces for mosaic application.

Days 3–5

Application of the ceramic mosaic, project development and completion of the three-dimensional artwork.
At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate of attendance and their completed work.

• Printed manual and handouts dedicated to the course technique
