Course Description

The advanced Byzantine mosaic course offers a comprehensive theoretical and practical study of this fascinating art, from the evolution of Roman mosaics to Christian decorations. Participants will delve into the creation of icons and figurative subjects, exploring mosaic as an artistic and devotional expression.

The program includes the study of the symbolism of traditional and modern depictions and techniques: from the cutting and selection of Venetian glass tesserae to their installation, aimed at achieving highly refined chromatic and pictorial effects. The workshop will lead to the creation of two Byzantine-style works , either religious or secular, consolidating theoretical and practical skills in an art that combines technique, spirituality, and beauty.
