Course Description

A course dedicated to Roman mosaic , with an in-depth study of the compositional rules

During the lessons, the details and techniques of cutting and installing the tiles will be analyzed, with particular attention to understanding marble and its characteristics.
Particular space will be reserved for traditional canons and the study of the origins of Roman art.

1st day

  • Morning: Presentation and theoretical lesson on Roman mosaics

  • Afternoon: exercises and choice of subject

2nd and 3rd day

  • Creation of the mosaic work (max 40x50 cm)

  • Delivery of certificate of participation and of the mosaic work created

How to register

The course is taught in Italian by the instructor Tiziana Mondini. Possibility of translation into English, Spanish, or French by a professional translator present during the lessons.

The mosaic school in Tessere is open all year round and follows national holidays.

Each path is individual. The start date is freely chosen by the student, without a predetermined calendar. In case of special needs, it is possible to distribute the course hours over more days than the standard program (for example, 3 hours a day instead of 7).
