    Each marble tile varies in size from approximately 1 x 1 cm to 1 x 2 cm , with a thickness of approximately 0.5 cm each.

    This slight variation is due to the artistic and manual cutting of the tiles made with a cutter and hammer.

    The tiles are ready to use and can be individually retouched, if necessary, using mosaic pliers .

    1 kg bags containing marble slabs for the independent construction of mosaics.

    Each marble slab has approximate dimensions of 5 x 5 x 1 cm.

    The sheets can be cut independently using a cutter and a hammer to obtain the desired dimensions.

Each marble tile has a size ranging from 1 x 1 cm to 1 x 2 cm approximately, with a thickness of approximately 0.5 cm each.

This slight variation is given by the artistic and manual cut of the same (cutter and hammer) which makes each tile unique.

A note on the colors and tones of the marbles

The colors shown in the samples and in the product catalog may be slightly different from the ones you purchased.

Marble is a natural material therefore the color may have slight variations in shades.

Each slab has its own peculiarities, infinite little variations in nuance, streaks and veins, that are impossible to catalog.

The In Tessere Mosaic School also provides tools and materials for mosaic making, such as DIY marble mosaic tiles.

A wide selection of marble tiles for mosaics is available in 1 kg bags (already hand-cut with hammer and hardie) or as slabs (to be cut independently).

You can also purchase a complete set of professional mosaic tools along with the marble tiles for mosaic making.

DIY Marble Mosaic Tiles and Artistic Hand-Cut Marble Slabs

The marble for mosaics available on our website is sold in 1 kg bags.

You can choose from:

  • DIY MARBLE MOSAIC TILES – already hand-cut
  • DIY MARBLE SLABS – to cut yourself
  • 1 kg of marble tiles or slabs covers an area of approximately 20 × 50 cm.
  • Each marble tile measures about 1 × 1 cm to 1 × 2 cm, with a thickness of around 0.5 cm. This slight variation is due to the artistic hand-cutting performed with hammer and hardie.
  • The slabs contained in one bag can be cut into approximately 500 tiles.

The tiles and slabs we supply are made of marble or natural stone sourced from various Italian and international quarries.

Two sides of each marble piece are machine-cut, while the other two are hand-split using traditional tools — hammer and hardie — following ancient artisanal methods.
