    5-DAYS WORKSHOP + 1-DAY TRIP (6 DAYS): "SMALL WORKS OF ROMAN ART"

    The course promoted by the In Tessere school is an extraordinary course dedicated to Roman art. The stone micromosaic is a highly refined technique used by the Romans to represent daily life with extraordinary realism. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of classical art, with an intensive course on the study of the canons of Italian art. The students will have the opportunity to make an exact copy of a Roman mosaic and to visit one of the most important museums of Roman art in Rome.

    Location: The theoretical part will take place at the headquarters of the Mosaico In Tessere school in Narni Scalo (Tr). The visit will take place in the city of Rome.

    Objectives : During the course, students will be guided by master mosaic artists in the process of creating a micromosaic work, addressing all the issues of realism, study of patterns and study of marble.

    The theoretical and practical part will take place in the city of Narni, while the guided tour in Rome at the Palazzo Massimo museum.

    Day 1: Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Micromosaic

    3-DAY WORKSHOP: "PEBBLE MOSAICS: A JOURNEY THROUGH ANCIENT GREECE" - IN COLLABORATION WITH MASTER PEBBLE MOSAIC ARTIST LUCA RIGGIO

    Explore the world of pebble mosaic for flooring through the study of ancient works and traditional techniques.

    Subsequent creation of a real outdoor cobblestone paving.

    Location : The theoretical part will take place at the headquarters of the Mosaico In Tessere school in Narni Scalo (Tr). The construction of the mosaic will take place in the town of Nera Montoro (Umbria).

    Objectives : The course offers the opportunity to discover and learn the age-old techniques of pebble mosaic to transform simple stones into works of art.

    Day 1: Introduction to the Cobblestone Technique

    • Theory and methods of laying cobblestone paving.
    • Selection of the material directly from the quarry and preparation of the base for the subsequent installation of the mosaic.
    • Practical demonstrations and guided indoor exercises to experience the creative process.

    Day 2: Creation of the Cobblestone Paving

    • Collaboration in the creation of authentic flooring, inspired by the motifs and designs of antiquity.
    • Guided by expert instructors, participants will have the opportunity to create an authentic mosaic, inspired by the motifs and designs of antiquity.

    Day 3: Finishing and Closing Ceremony

    • Completion of the cobblestone paving and preparation for the final celebration.
    • Closing ceremony with the delivery of certificates, commemorating an experience of knowledge and passion transformed into tangible works of art.

    CORDO DI GRUPPO "COLORI E MAROCCO - ZELLIGE: UN'ARTE MILLENARIA

    IN COLLABORAZIONE CON MARIA MEDINA E L'ASS. ARTEM

    Marrakesch arriva in Umbria! Questo corso sul mosaico marocchino vi condurrà nel mondo affascinante della ceramica araba, dove avrete l'opportunità di immergervi nella ricca tradizione artistica del Marocco e di apprendere le tecniche millenarie del taglio manuale delle tessere in ceramica per creare opere ceramiche in stile arabo.

    Location: Il workshop si terrà nella sede della scuola di Mosaico In Tessere a Narni Scalo (Tr).

    Obiettivi: Durante il corso, gli allievi avranno l'opportunità di esplorare il disegno arabo, una forma d'arte ricca di simbolismo, geometria e complessità. Attraverso lezioni teoriche e pratiche, saranno introdotti ai principi e ai motivi del design arabo, dalle intricate geometrie ai delicati arabeschi, imparando a interpretare e ad applicare queste forme in modo creativo.

    Giorno 1: Storia dell'Architettura Araba e Disegno Arabo

    • Esplorazione della storia dell'architettura araba e dei principi del disegno arabo.
    • Studio dei vari stili e motivi iconici della decorazione araba attraverso esempi storici e contemporanei.
    • Esercizi pratici di disegno e composizione per sviluppare capacità nel creare schemi e motivi ispirati alla tradizione artistica araba.

    Giorni successivi: Realizzazione Pratica di Manufatti in Stile Marocchino Zellige

    • Creazione pratica di due manufatti di stile arabo utilizzando il taglio manuale delle tessere in ceramica.
    • Apprendimento delle tecniche di taglio preciso e assemblaggio delle tessere per creare decorazioni parietali, tavoli, e fontane.
    • Esplorazione della creatività individuale e realizzazione delle proprie visioni attraverso il medium affascinante della ceramica.

    Cerimonia di Chiusura: Consegna degli Attestati

    • Celebrazione dell'impegno degli allievi e delle loro creazioni con una cerimonia di chiusura e consegna degli attestati.

Our school turns 25 years old and has more than 1500 students

Our school was founded in Ravenna in 1999, then in 202 we moved to Umbria where we continue our training and promotion of mosaic art.

Over the years, the training offer of our mosaic school has expanded, as have the collaborations with other teachers and artists in the sector.

To date, over 1500 students from all over the world have attended our school, choosing between short, intensive, advanced and professional courses.

About us

Tiziana Mondini

Born in Rome in 1975, she graduated from the Professional Training Center of Ravenna .

After a period of apprenticeship in laboratories and artisan workshops and collaborations with mosaic artistic realities in the city of Ravenna , he decided to found his own mosaic atelier and laboratory, In Tessere Arte del Mosaico , which would lay the foundations for the subsequent creation of the school of mosaic.

Tiziana immediately becomes a point of reference in the panorama of artistic mosaic for her great technical ability, refined taste and iconic versatility. Linked to the artistic traditions that allow it to guarantee excellent technical quality, it has always approached mosaic also as an artistic expression, not only as a construction and decorative technique.

The main feature of the artistic mosaic projects designed and built by Tiziana is the creation of extraordinary tile textures that transform the mosaic into a real plastic material. His works have been presented in various regional and national exhibitions, receiving mentions and awards for their originality and excellent workmanship.

Alongside the school's activities, Tiziana deals with the production of artistic mosaics for interior design, furniture and architecture projects.

In fact, for over 25 years Tiziana and her team made up of master mosaicists, artisans and artists have spread the tradition of artistic mosaic respecting the canons of the ancient artisan workshop and creating excellent and iconic mosaic works for interiors and exteriors in small and large formats .

In fact, Tessere Arte del mosaico plans, designs and creates unique and exclusive artistic mosaics and tailor-made projects inspired by the Italian mosaic tradition but also more modern and contemporary projects with unconventional materials for private clients, public bodies and organisations.
