The Justinian mosaic kit is inspired by the famous mosaic portrait of Emperor Justinian I (527–565 AD), protagonist of one of the most important cycles of Byzantine mosaics preserved in the Basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna. Handcrafted in the In Tessere mosaic school workshop (Italy) with the highest quality materials.

The kit contains:

  • 1 complete set with materials and equipment to create the chosen artwork,
  • various drawings and diagrams to facilitate the execution of the mosaic,
  • 1 exclusive illustrated manual created by our school in PDF format related to the chosen construction technique with a detailed explanation of the various steps to carry out the project.
  • 1 online video tutorial with unlimited viewing (via link)

Size of the tesserae: W 1 x D 1 cm // W 0.39" x W 0.39"

IMPORTANT: the marble colors in the kits are always similar but never identical to those shown in the photos. This slight variation lies in its geological formation characteristics (read notes on colors).

Unlimited views online videos accessible via links wherever you are. The artist and teacher Tiziana Mondini explains step by step how to proceed in the creation of a mosaic with the chosen mosaic technique.

The colors of the materials shown in the photographs are for illustrative purposes only.

The marbles, glass, and ceramics included in the kit will have similar, but not identical, color variations to those shown in the images.
