Join us for a Mosaic and Pottery Workshop from November 25th to 28th, 2024 , a 4-day artistic experience combining ceramics and mosaic creation. This workshop, titled "Double Signature," is a collaboration between the In Tessere school and Martina Lignini of Mentacreativelab . Explore the world of design and craftsmanship through a unique blend of artistry and collaboration in Narni and Terni .

Day 1: Guided Tour of Martina Lignini's Atelier and her Pottery and Ceramic Workshop

The workshop kicks off with a guided tour of Martina Lignini's atelier in Terni. On this day, participants will visit the Ceramic Garden , an inspiring space focused on natural forms and botanical studies. You'll dive deep into ceramic manufacturing techniques and explore Lignini's creative process. This guided tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at how artistic ideas are transformed into stunning ceramic pieces.

Day 2: Collective Work – Mosaic and Ceramic Totem

On the second day, participants will start the creation of a ceramic and mosaic totem , designed in the shape of a cactus. Guided by expert instructors, you will work collaboratively to combine your visions and skills into a meaningful, collective artwork. This part of the workshop emphasizes teamwork, creativity , and a hands-on approach to pottery and mosaic art.

Day 3: Using Unconventional Materials and Techniques

The third day is dedicated to selecting unconventional and recycled materials to bring your project to life. You'll learn manual cutting techniques , explore the arrangement and installation of tiles , and experience the creative process through guided practical exercises . Both individual and group work will contribute to the overall development of the mosaic and pottery totem.

Day 4: Installation and Closing Ceremony

On the final day, you'll complete the installation of the collective work. To celebrate the completion of the project, a closing ceremony will be held where all participants will receive certificates. The workshop ends with a moment of reflection on the journey and celebration of the collective artistic achievement.

Mosaic and Pottery Workshop Details and Cost

The 4-day Design & Ceramics workshop costs €585 . The price includes the course registration (€85 non-refundable), transportation between Narni and Terni , all materials, and the guided tour. Each participant will keep the works they create during the course. Optional home delivery of the finished artwork is available at an additional cost.

About the Pottery Master: Martina Lignini

Martina Lignini, born in 1987, is the founder of Menta Creative Lab . A graduate of the "Orneore Metelli" art school in Terni, Martina initially trained as a Landscape Architect and Garden Designer , earning her degree from the "Ludovico Quaroni" Faculty of Architecture in Rome in 2009 and 2013. Her passion for botanical studies and natural forms led her to explore serigraphy and ceramic art.

In 2015, she began to experiment with ceramics , integrating it into her serigraphic works. Over time, ceramics became her primary focus, evolving into intricate, sculptural pieces inspired by nature. By 2018, she started collaborating with LaQuercia21 , designing furniture and ceramic pieces for top Italian design brands in Rome, Milan, and Spoleto. Her works were showcased at prestigious events like the Menotti Art Festival . In 2020, Martina pursued a Master in Ceramic Product Design and began designing for high-end brands like Roche Bobois . Today, her work merges artistic craftsmanship with innovative design, showcased through her collections like "Ianu Ga Hana" for the Kenzo Takada K3 brand.
